Ordinary tap water is heated to 212F (100C) killing microbes such as bacteria, cysts and viruses that may be present. Steam rises leaving behind dead microbes, dissolved solids, salts, heavy metals and other substances. Low boiling gases are discharged through the gaseous vent. Steam is condensed in the stainless steel coil. Purified water then percolates through the coconut shell carbon filter, enhancing quality by adsorption of volatile organic compounds. The 100% steam distilled water is collected in the 1 gallon polycarbonate collector/dispenser bottle (included)
