You are about to learn the TRUTH of what really goes into your beauty products. The following are documented facts and cannot be disputed, but the Big Business of Cosmetics will do ANYTHING to hide and cloud these facts with millions of dollars in advertising.
A fourth generation dairy farmer and cattle rancher by the name of Howard F. Lyman records in his book Mad Cowboy:
"When a cow is slaughtered, about half of it by weight is not eaten by humans: the intestines and their contents, the head, hooves, and horns, as well as bones and blood are dumped into giant grinders at rendering plants. In addition, the entire bodies of cows and other farm animals known to be diseased are thrown into the grinders. Rendering is a $2.4 Billion-a-year industry, processing forty billion pounds of dead animals a year. There is simply no such thing as an animal in America too ravaged by disease, too cancerous, or too putrid to be welcomed by the all-embracing arms of the renderer. Another staple...is euthanized pets- the 6 or 7 million dogs and cats that are killed in animal shelters every year...Added to the blend are the euthanized catch of animal control agencies, and road kill.
"When this gruesome mix is ground and steam-cooked, the lighter, fatty material floating to the top gets refined for use in such products as COSMETICS, LUBRICANTS, SOAPS, candles, and waxes."
In April 1996, Mr. Lyman went on the Oprah Winfrey show and told a horrified audience the truth about the cattle business. In early June, Texas Cattlemen and The Texas Commissioner of Agriculture SUED Mr. Lyman, Oprah Winfrey, and her production company (Harpo Productions) for "slanderous" statements about cattle and beef.
A jury in Amarillo, Texas, had to decide if Mr. Lyman's statements deviated from, "reasonable and reliable scientific inquiry, fact, data." On February 26, 1998, the jury found in favor of Mr. Lyman and Oprah Winfrey.
